Looking for an Ourtime review before you create a profile? Here are the facts about the service: who runs it, what is free, what the passes cost in pounds and how to cancel a subscription. The information comes from Ourtime’s UK terms of use and its listing in the UK App Store.
What is Ourtime and who runs it?
Ourtime is a dating service for people over 50. In the UK it is available at ourtime.co.uk and in the App Store as “OurTime : Mature Dating App”, described as a way to meet senior and mature singles and create “genuine connections over 50”. Whether you are looking for a new partner or simply company for walks, concerts or a Sunday lunch, you meet people at a similar stage of life.
Ourtime uses the same terms of use as Match: the contract is with Meetic SAS in Paris, part of the Match Group family, and the App Store seller is Match.com International Limited. The terms are governed by the laws of England, subject to the consumer law where you live. Ourtime does not publish member numbers for the UK, so we do not give any.
Because Ourtime and Match are run by the same company, they work in much the same way. The real difference is who you meet: on Ourtime, everyone is in the over-50 age group.
What is free on Ourtime?
According to the UK App Store listing, you can do the following without paying:
- create a detailed profile
- answer written prompts and choose three core values
- browse other members’ profiles
- chat for free with members you have matched with
That last point is the key one: once you and another member are both interested, you can talk without a subscription. Photos and descriptions are moderated within 24 hours, according to Ourtime, and there are safety tips in the app.
Passes and prices: does Ourtime renew automatically?
The paid features are grouped into passes:
- Essential: unlimited browsing, revisit profiles, see who liked you, read all messages sent to you and no adverts
- Premium: everything in Essential, plus unlimited messages, see who viewed your profile, advanced search filters, up to three Super Likes a week and read receipts
- Prestige: everything in Premium, plus one automatic Boost a day, priority Likes, Prestige search filters and anti-ghosting protection
According to the UK App Store, prices include:
- Premium, 1 week: £19.99
- Premium, 1 month: £39.99
- 3 months: £74.99
- Premium, 6 months: £119.99
- Incognito Mode, 1 month: £9.99
Longer periods work out cheaper per month. Six months for £119.99 is roughly £20 a month, half the price of a single month at £39.99. Prices on the website are not public and are shown after you log in, so always check the price in the place where you buy.
Subscriptions renew automatically. According to the terms, you can switch off renewal from 24 hours after purchase until at least 48 hours before the renewal date. Some offers have a reduced introductory price and then renew at the standard price, so read the price for the next period carefully.
Ourtime or Match?
Ourtime and Match share an owner, terms and pass structure, so the choice mainly comes down to who you want to meet. Match is open to adults of all ages, while Ourtime focuses on people over 50. In the UK App Store, one week of Premium costs £19.99 and one month £39.99 on both apps. If you want to meet people of your own generation without filtering out much younger profiles, Ourtime is the more focused choice. If you are open to a wider age range, Match gives you more variety.

Who is Ourtime for?
- people over 50 who want to meet others at the same stage of life
- widowed or divorced singles starting to date again
- anyone looking for a new partner or new friends
- those prepared to keep track of a subscription that renews automatically

Tips to get the most out of Ourtime
- Write a personal profile. Describe what an ordinary week looks like for you and what you are hoping to find. It gives people something to reply to. Our dating app bio examples can help.
- Use the prompts. A warm or funny answer is an easy way to get noticed without paying.
- Choose clear, recent photos. A photo where your face is easy to see makes it easier for others to like you back.
- Like the people you are genuinely curious about. A mutual match opens the free chat.
- Think about the length before you buy. A longer pass is cheaper per month, but it is a bigger commitment.
- Plan the first meeting carefully. Meet somewhere public and tell a friend where you are going. Read our dating app safety tips and first date ideas.
How to cancel Ourtime
If you bought in the app, cancel through your Apple ID or Google Play subscriptions. If you bought on the website, turn off auto-renewal in your account. Deleting the app does not end the subscription. Do it at least 48 hours before the renewal date and keep the confirmation.
According to the terms, you have 14 days to cancel after a purchase, but your first login after buying counts as a request for immediate access, so you may have to pay for the time you have used. If you paid for a longer period in instalments, the remaining instalments are still due after you switch off renewal. This is general information, not legal advice. If you cannot resolve a problem, Citizens Advice can explain your consumer rights.
Summary: our Ourtime review
Ourtime is a dating service for over 50s who want to meet a partner or new friends of their own generation. Profile, browsing and chat with your matches are free. Premium adds unlimited messages and better filters, and longer periods are much cheaper per month. Just remember that subscriptions renew automatically.
